The Manager Human Resources is the primary Human Resources (HR) business partner for the US Sales & Worldwide Field Services organization and works with HR leadership on implementation of global succession planning, career management, performance management and recruitment; ensuring that the business unit reward structures reward and recognize high performance, innovation and creativity; and ensuring implementation of key processes and capabilities to support business unit learning and growth agenda.
Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position :
Assists with the implementation of the HR strategy in support of short-term and long-term business goals. Partners with specialist groups to ensure coordination of HR strategies and processes across the organization.
Supports the implementation of organizations and cultures that drive innovation and employee engagement and supports the implementation of structures and strategies to improve individual and organizational performance.
Implements effective strategies to enable the organization to thrive through periods of change. Provides group and one-on-one coaching with managers and employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, human resources management, problem solving and performance management. Supports the implementation of appropriate HR solutions aligned with business direction and implements global/standardized HR processes at the local level. Assists with employee communication initiatives within customer groups and provides advice on performance and related issues. Communicates business related issues or opportunities to next management level. Ensures subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition. Ensures personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties assigned as needed.
Frequent interaction with field-based employees at all levels. Occasional interaction with customers, including physicians and lab staff. Regular interaction and partnership with HR Specialist Groups such as J&J Recruiting, Total Rewards, Talent Management and Employee Relations.
A minimum of a Bachelor Degree is required; preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or related area of focus. A Masters Degree (e.g., MBA, MA HR) is strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years of total business experience with 3 years of applicable HR business partner experience OR a minimum 4 years of total business experience including an HR Leadership Development Program experience required. Large global organization experience strongly preferred. HR business partner experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred; medical device industry sector preferred. Experience supporting commercial organizations (e.g. Sales, Marketing) strongly preferred. Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills required. Must possess strategic thinking, big picture orientation, intellectual curiosity, prudent risk taking, organization & talent development, collaboration & teaming and self-awareness and adaptability competencies. Must demonstrate strong business acumen and business partnering skills. Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and work well in a team-based environment required. The ability to lead change management and to shape the environment required. Strong knowledge of leading talent management philosophies and strategies as well as strategy development is strongly preferred. Strong managerial and leadership coaching skills required. Team and organizational dynamics assessment and development strongly preferred. Approximately 20-30% travel required.
